Refurbished iPhone: what it means, how we check it and when it is worth it

A refurbished iPhone is a checked, tested and fully working phone, sold with warranty at a price 20-40% lower than new. At iRestore Chisinau, every refurbished iPhone goes through a technical check before it reaches the shelf and gets a condition grade shown transparently: A+, A, B or C.

What does "refurbished" actually mean?

"Refurbished" does not mean "broken and repaired". In most cases these are returned phones, display units, or briefly used devices put back on sale after inspection. The difference from a "second-hand" phone on the open market is simple: the refurbished one has been tested by a service, issues were fixed with proper parts, and its condition is described honestly.

Condition grades at iRestore

• A+ (Like new): practically indistinguishable from a new phone; no visible signs of use.
• A (Excellent): minimal signs of use, visible only on very close inspection.
• B (Good): minor scratches or wear that do not affect functionality in any way.
• C (Acceptable): visible signs of use, but technically fully functional, the best price.

• The display: pixels, touch, brightness, True Tone
• Cameras, speakers, microphones and sensors
• Charging over cable and wireless
• Networks: SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth; the phone is unlocked and free of iCloud lock

When is refurbished the right choice?

Refurbished is the right choice if you want a better model on the same budget, for example a refurbished iPhone 14 Pro instead of a new iPhone 13.
